The chance to go fishing with Paul Volcker, former chairman of the Federal Reserve under Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, is one of the top prizes in a charity auction. It’s for two people on the Beaverkill River in the Catskills as Volcker’s guest, and it’s valid between May and September next year. Volcker chaired President Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board from February 2009 until January 2011.The online auction, which closes next Tuesday (December 11) is being run by the Robert F Kennedy Centre for Justice and Human Rights, and it includes some spectacular lots, including attending a speech by Bill Clinton and meeting him afterwards; two tickets to see The Who and meet Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey; a round of golf with Donald Trump; a stroll through Strawberry Fields with Yoko Ono, a walk-on role in the stage show Chicago on Broadway and the chance to meet Justin Bieber. The fishing sounds better. There are hundreds of lots in the auction: details here.
