This superb golden orfe mounted by the London taxidermist William Homer is one of more than 100 quality cased fish that are for sale at Fisherman’s Emporium, a shop-cum-museum run by collector and angling enthuisiast John Farey. The 3lb 2oz orfe, caught from Virginia Water in 1937, is one of the rarest cased fish you will see, but John also has cased gudgeon, lamprey, bleak and even ballan wrasse. All the cases are for sale. You can also buy rods, reels, paintings and a superb collection of rare and leather-bound books. The emporium is at Craycombe, just outside Evesham, and you can view the fish on his website here.
