Items owned by the Rev EC Alston, who once held both the tench and rudd records, are among lots at Angling Auctions’ next sale. The 40 lots include an 1896 Hardy brass Perfect, a Gregory Windsor Bee lure and a 19th century wide-drum spike winch. None of his cased fish are in the sale (though you can see his famed case containing a 4lb 4oz and a 4lb 8oz rudd in the latest Classic Angling). Other items at Angling Auctions include several very early Perfects; oils by HL Rolfe and JB Russell; A Skinner Archimedian trout reel; a 4in Coxon Rollerback and several scarce Kentucky reels. The sale takes place on September 29 at Chiswick, London. View the catalogue here.
