The new issue of Classic Angling will have an exclusive story about plans for a UK angling museum, plus another story you won’t have read elsewhere about the forthcoming TV series based on Mr Crabtree Goes Fishing, the classic Bernard Venables book that sold over 2 million copies. It’s still the best-selling sports book of all time. (Wayne Rooney, eat your heart out.) Sorry, web lovers, this one’s only for subscribers. But there are lots of other goodies in the issue that goes to press early next week, including an article by Hoagy Carmichael about catching salmon from Norway’s famed river Alta on a dry fly. I’ll be publishing a few other tempters to make those who don’t subscribe realise what they’re missing!
