The best website for those interested in US-related classic tackle is undoubtedly the one run by Todd Larson at The Whitefish Press. It also publishes a monthly digest of articles, Fishing for History magazine, which is free. The latest issue offers a wide range of articles, from dating line spools to Bronson saltwater reels, from the Dillon-Beck Quiver Lure to old advertisements for the Creek Chub Plunker. True, some of the subjects are highly specialised, but otherwise this stuff would be lost in the annals of time, and if you’re interested in Illinois tackle history (another of the topics in the latest issue) or similar, it’s a real gem. Take a look at it here.
