A copy of William Blacker’s 1855 Art of Fly Making is the highlight of a sale taking place tomorrow (Tuesday) at New England Book Auctions. It includes more than 200 lots, and while some are hunting and shooting, there’s a good range of quality books, many of them signed. They include several of the excellent Crunch ‘n Des books by Philip Wylie, two copies of Charles Thacher’s superb reference work on angling books, a good batch of book on rod-making and almost all of the limited-edition works produced by the Meadow run Press. The auction house does not take online bids but will accept advance bids by phone, email or fax. You can download a copy of the catalogue here.
