Some rare reels by the innovative Dutchman Ari ‘t Hart and a couple of split-cane rods by the the superb German maker Walter Brunner are among items in Hildebrant’s next sale on November 3. The Hart reels include a Stu Apte Bonefish, a Triangle, an S3 Variant (pictured) and an Model HRH. In 1993, Hart’s landmark Remco reel was given permanent placement in The Museum of Modern Art in New York. The four Brunner rods, all light trout models, are a Salza, Pielach, Thymalli and Gebetsroither. Other items at the auction, which takes place at Bad Karlshafen in Germany, are two Hardy brass-faced salmon Perfects and some fine DAM lures. You need to read some German to understand details of the online catalogue but the owner, Udo Hildebrant, speaks good English and can give details of lots in the sale.
