A hooked black marlin appears to have sunk a sports-fishing boat off Panama. The dramatic pictures, which appear on Marlin magazine’s Facebook page, were taken by another boat that was photographing the action. While the marlin didn’t actually charge the boat and punch huge holes in it, the fish’s scorching runs forced the captain to back down at full throttle while in reverse. It appears that the skipper slipped while doing so, the boat took on too much water and started to sink. The crew and anglers had to leap clear, and watched their boat sink. They were rescued by the photo boat. And the marlin got away.
