Three days chasing tarpon and snook at a top lodge in Costa Rica, five days’ big-game fishing in Madeira with accommodation and a week’s peacock bass fishing on the Amazon are just some of the lots in the International Game Fishing Association’s annual auction. Other items include books, tackle, art and clothing, as well as a wealth of one-day trips with top guides, fishing everything from sailfish to tarpon, bonefish and permit. The auction is linked with the association’s annual banquet, but all the lots are now open to online bidding and offer a buy-it-now price. If you’re feeling lucky, there are also 200 tickets at $100, with the winner taking $10,000. If you’re smart, you can collar some spectacular items here. Non US-bidders must register before bidding. Full details at the IGFA website here. Bidding closes a day before the banquet, which takes place on January 25. It’s a spectacular occasion at the IGFA’s headquarters in Florida, with tickets costing $250.
