Clearance has been given for the UK’s first fishing complex and shopping centre. The £35m IntoOutdoors site at Evesham, on the Warwickshire Avon, will include tackle shops, two lakes and a stretch of the river. It will offer anglers the chance to water-test tackle before buying, according to Devon developer Eagle One. Work starts in January on the venue, which is set to open in summer 2014. The new centre will replace Evesham Country Park, which currently occupies the land. It will include a 45-unit retail park in its 125-acre setting. Restaurants, cafés, cycle routes and 60 holiday lodges are also planned. The lakes are likely to be run as day-ticket waters. Full story here.
